Telehealth

(Video Therapy)

Is Telehealth (Teletherapy) Right for Me?

There are many advantages to telehealth; however, it is not right for everyone. Teletherapy works best for those with mild to moderate symptoms (not those who are suicidal or in crisis), are comfortable using technology, and have a quiet, private place to have their sessions.

Is Telehealth Effective?

Studies show that online therapy can be just as effective as in-person therapy.

What Are the Potential Benefits and Drawbacks to Telehealth?

Telehealth can be effective, convenient in regard to scheduling, and it can save time since you don’t have to commute to appointments.

However, some people may feel that telehealth may be more impersonal compared to face-to-face treatment. In addition, therapists aren’t able to fully read body language even if video is being used.

Is Telehealth Secure and Confidential?

Licensed mental health professionals must follow laws and ethical codes that ensure confidentiality. Video sessions will be conducted via a HIPAA-compliant version of Zoom and measures are taken to address safety, security, and confidentiality concerns.

"The best years of your life are the ones in which you decide your problems are your own. You do not blame them on your mother, the ecology, or the president. You realize that you control your own destiny."
