FAQs:

General Questions About My Practice

What Types of Issues or Clients DO You Currently Work With?

I mostly work with adults aged 18+, individuals and couples. I may be willing to see a teen/adolescent depending on the area of concern; we can assess this with a phone consultation.

What Types of Issues or Clients Do You NOT Currently Work With?

While I have experience working with children, I am not currently working with that population.

I do not conduct child custody evaluations. Nor do I provide custody recommendations.

I also don’t provide treatment for diagnosed eating disorders, bi-polar disorder, psychotic disorders (schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, etc.), or personality disorders as these mental health conditions may require more specialized training.

I Currently Live Outside of the State of CA. Would You Be Able to Work with Me?

Due to state licensing laws, I can only provide therapy/counseling services to individuals residing in California.

What Are Your Work Hours?

My typical work hours are from 9am to 12pm and 2pm to 6pm. If you need an appointment time outside of those hours, please contact me and we can discuss your needs. On occasion I can work outside of my usual schedule, but it requires advanced planning and coordination.

What is Your Cancellation Policy?

Sessions must be cancelled at least 24 hours in advance; otherwise, a late cancellation fee will be charged. An occasional exception may be made in the case of an emergency. If you fail to show up to your appointment, a late fee will be charged.

What Forms of Payment do You Accept?

I accept credit card or debit card via Ivy Pay.

Do You Accept Insurance?

I am an Out of Network (OON) provider for Blue Shield and can accept Blue Shield PPO plans that have “Out of Network” benefits/coverage. Prior to our first appointment, I can connect you to a service, Advekit, that is free of charge to you and can help you find out what your OON coverage is. There is no need to self-submit your claims. Advekit will bill you your copay/deductible and they will bill your insurance company on your behalf. I highly recommend you contact your insurance plan yourself and ask about your benefits as well.

Please note that submitting an insurance claim means I will need to give you a mental health diagnosis.

Do You Provide Statements, Receipts, or Invoices?

I can provide monthly statements/invoices upon request.
